The Extra Virgin Olive Oil Buttafuoco is a high quality olive oil produced since 1960 by a Sicilian family devoted to traditions, health and nature.
The Buttafuoco family have been producing extra virgin olive oil since three generations. The agricultural firm, named Buttafuoco Mimma (one of the member of the family) is situated in Sicily (southern Italy), in a territorial area belonging to the province of Agrigento (Belice Valley). We owned about 2500 olive trees placed in a nice green hill, far away from industries and pollution. We have never used any kind of chemical product in order to cultivate our land and next year we will receive the EU- BIO certification. In order to produce a high quality olive oil, the harvest takes place early October when the olives are still sour and unripe. The olives are picked by hand and squeezed within 24 hours in an oil mill. The olives belong to the Biancolilla cultivar (a typical olive sort of the Belice Valley) and the oil is yellow-green, with an intense aroma and a fruity, pungent flavour. Our oil is the perfect seasoning for salads, vegetables, pasta and any kind of tasty food. We sell our olive oil in Italy, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland to private customers and restaurants.
